Academics
I moved to the district I am in now when I was in sixth grade. I was in the National Junior Honor Society all throughout my Junior High school years. I am now a senior in High school. I am a member of the National Honor Society and have been for the fourth year now of high school. I have been awarded an Academic Sweater for the fourth year now, due to a high GPA. I currently obtain twelve college credit hours due to taking Dual Credit English and Mathematics classes at our local college, as a Junior. I will attend more Dual Credit classes during my Senior year. I am an honor role student and always have been. I am a hard working student. I wish to attend Nursing school to become either a Pre-Natal Nurse or a Pediatrician. I am on the distinguished program for graduation.
Arts
I have been a Band geek and nerd since i was in the sixth grade. I had no choice but to be in band. I did not think I would like band at all, yet I am now the biggest band nerd in my school. I have been first chair since sixth grade. I love music. I play the flute and I love it. I practice at home and school and I take my flute everywhere I go, even on vacation. I am one of the band directors favorite students, because I am always willing to come in early or stay late to help clean up or get ready for an event. I love to help the upcoming Freshmen during our summer band camp. I love to help teach lower classmen band members as well. During this past year, I tutored a sixth grade floutist. I absolutely love band.
Other Achievements
I have been a twirler since my seventh grade year in Junior High school. I take lessons from a former twirler, sponsor, and teacher. I am dedicated to twirling. I have been to two state twirling competitions now and I will make it to the third one in this upcoming year. I am the head twirling captain this year. I have three other twirlers that I am in charge of. I love being a leader of a group. I hope to keep twirling alive because not many schools have twirlers anymore. I also have been in DECA for a year. Our DECA group hosts many school activities to raise money for rewards for students. We also have a dedicated group that goes to state competition. I have also been in Spanish Club for two years now and a third one next year, although I am not fluent in the language.
