ATTRIBUTES
Athletics
I led my school to its first ever AAA championship and first AAA division girls’ volleyball team to win the first round of state regional’s, to advance to the second round to play the number one seed, Sacred Heart Cathedral. I also participate in the basketball team, track and field team, and my club volleyball team. My love and passion for volleyball led me to an AAA honorable mention, AAA first team All-City, SanFranPreps second team in the city, Rookie of the year awards, and the Most Valuable Player Award. This is also my greatest growing experience because I learned the significance of being a leader and owning up to its responsibilities. This passion is what I tried to portray to my team, my school, and my community. I not only made a believer out of them, but a believer in myself.
Work
During the summer of 2012, I interned at Jones Day Private Law Firm. This is my first work experience and working has taught me a lot about the society and a lot about myself. I worked with reception, office services, records, and paralegal litigation as I improved on my communication, organization, public speaking, self-management, and critical thinking skills. I am very confident that my employer was happy with my work and my co-workers were thrilled about my presence. Working in a law firm helped me pave the path to my future because it taught me that I am not as interested in becoming a lawyer as I am a firefighter. I am also in the San Francisco’s Youth Fire Academy and hope that this work will play a part of my career.
Academics
Academics are the area of school I struggle the most. My grade point average is a 3.8 and I have been on the honor role every semester in high school. I am also a member and of the California’s Scholarship Federation Program which I take great pride in. English and literature is not my strength, but I work hard in my English classes to obtain A’s every semester. I enjoy taking math courses and challenge myself by talking 2 math courses in one semester. I have earned Balboa’s “Best Combination of Athlete and Student” award, and the “Most diligent and Hardworking” award in 9th grade. I contribute positive attitude in my classes and I participate as much as possible. I feel that I excel in the areas of public speaking and communication with my classmates.
