ATTRIBUTES
Government
I have always had an unrelenting passion for political science. I am currently the Captain my high school's Speech and Debate Team, recruiting and training over 30 kids year to compete in local and national tournaments. I am a national Grand Finals qualifier in the public forum event. I also helped found Spanish River's first Model United Nations team and went on to win national recognition. But my true accomplishments lie in landing an internship with Florida Senator Bill Nelson, which has given me invaluable experience, and my status as a Fellow with the Presidential campaign. These activities bring my interest for poltics out of school and into the real world where I can really make a difference by organizing campaign events and coordinating presidential visits.
Academics
From a very young age, my parents have ingrained in me the importance of academic excellence and this has given me to motivation neccessary to succeed. I am currently valedvictorian of my class at Spanish River High School, a class of close to 500 stuents. My unweighted GPA is a 4.0 and my weighted GPA is a 5.1. I have taken over 13 AP courses and recieved the highest score of a "5" on every test except one, on which I recieved a "4". I am also currently dual enrolling in classes at FAU, my local university, alongside seniors in college and even graduate students. But most importantly, it is my passion for learning that defines me, not my statistics. I am truly dedicated to striving for the best and exceeding expectations.
Community Service
My community service project is one that truly lies very close to my heart. I have participated in my local communities Relay for Life event for a couple years now, but most recently I was selected as a board member. My job as the Mission Education Committee Chair entails educating relay-ers and others about the important services the American Cancer society provides for patients and survivors. And the board as a whole is in charge of building the Relay for LIfe, a 24 hour walk/ceremony, from the ground up. This past year our event was widely succesful and our East Boca Raton Team raised thousands of dollars for the fight against cancer. Having lost many members of my own family to cancer, particpating in this important event is especially meaningful to me.
