ATTRIBUTES
Academics
My challenge in academics is to live up to the high standards I have set for myself. I am a straight A, high honor roll student taking all Honors and AP courses. I have been in advanced math since sixth grade and am enrolled in AP Calculus for my Junior year. I am also taking AP Language and AP Government. I took AP US History my sophomore year and am proud of my performance on the test! I was inducted into the National Honor Society as a sophomore and I pride myself on being ranked in the top 5% of my class. I am a voracious reader, a budding novelist and a published poet.
Arts
Music makes my heart sing! I express my musical creativity through piano, clarinet and bass clarinet. I am currently one of three Drum Majors for our school’s 150 member marching band. I have served as a rank leader and section leader in both marching and concert bands and have demonstrated my abilities by being selected for Wind Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra. I play clarinet, bass clarinet and piano and am currently learning how to compose Jazz music for piano, conducting the band and teaching myself how to play banjo!
Community Service
My life is full and I often take things for granted. When I started serving those less fortunate, I learned to enjoy my blessings. I have volunteered at our community’s food pantry and have an ongoing relationship with an organization called Kid’s Food Basket. This organization packages and serves bagged lunches to over 3,800 underprivileged children every day. I am honored to be a part of that.
