Discus Award Winner
10th Grade, VA
I am a rising sophomore and my freshman year GPA was 4.24. I took 11th grade honors math and all honors. I was science department award during the 3rd quarter and I was the only male in the entire school to earn that honor. I averaged all A's throughout middle school while winning awards every quarter for academic achievement. I have never once in my life at school recieved even a lunch detention. Academics have always been a huge part of my life and I always strive to do my best.
I have participated in over 20 sports teams throughout my life. I have gone to athletic camps almost every summer of my life so I would have great social and personal skills. Freshman year I worked very hard in cross country to rise above many upperclassman and will not only rookie of the year but to letter. I made the district and regional cross country team and received a varsity letter. I also participate in basketball in the fall. In the spring I participated in Track and Field and had a personal best in my mile at 5:21. Over 40 men were cut from the track team and I surpassed many of them to not get cut. Athletics has always been great for me because it is a great way for me to make new friends.
Community service has always felt like a great way for me to give back to the community because the community has always been very great to me. In 6-8 grade I volunteer to tutor children younger or the same age as me that needed help in math and science. I was given a lucky gift to be blessed at those subjects so I loved to help people that needed it. My community service in my life exceeds 200 hours. I was an umpire and got paid for certain games but on other games I would umpire without getting paid becasue the umpire that was supposed to come never showed up. I didn't want the children to not be able to play. I love giving back to the community.
