ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have taken and passed a total of 2 AP courses (World History and English Language and Composition) and am preparing to take a third this year (Literature). I've also taken language courses in 2 different language courses (two years Spanish and working on the 2nd in American Sign Language) and aced them both. I've taken 9 honors courses and aced those as well, and have been a part of honor roll in my school since the 8th grade. My SAT score is 1890 and my ACT score is a 28 composite score- both with the writing portion. I plan to become a teacher and often talk with my teachers to make sure that I'm on the right track and that I'm doing all I can to achieve that goal.
Arts
I consider myself to be very artistic. I am a writer- I've been published in "A Celebration of Poets" twice and have been published twice for my poetry in my school's literature review. I participated in my school's creative writing courses where the teacher liked to call me "Edgar Allen Poe's reincarnation" due to my descriptive and often dark poetry. I also participated in my school's drama program for the past three years and I've become a literal card carrying, certified thespian. I've been in my school's productions of "The Wizard of Oz", "Grease", and "West Side Story". I've also been a part of my school's musical theater group for the year it was open to the students.
Community Service
I've been volunteering to help others since I was little. Instead of just attending daycares, I helped any teacher that needed it- sweeping, washing tables, putting dishes away, and helping to put together crafts at my daycare All Kids Academy. When I was a member of the National Junior Honor society I performed services for my school which included giving tours to important school board members who visited one day. With my family I've "adopted" 3 highways and spent 3 seperate days cleaning up those highways and safely removing the litter I've collected. Additionally, I'm an active member in my local Teen Advisory Board- the head Board for my county. There, I help come up with ideas for activities and objects that the librarys' budgets should be spent on for the teen programs.
