ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I am currently a Sophomore at Central Magnet in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This is an academically advanced school. I have been attending this school since 8th grade and have excelled tremendously. I have not received anything lower than a A on a report card since 4th grade. I have several academic awards, such as the best overall Reading, Spanish, and Algebra 1 awards in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades respectively. I have also had perfect attendance since 8th grade! I am very dedicated to my studies, spending more than 4 hours a night on homework. In my first year of high school, I took one AP class, Human Geography, and got a 4 on the AP test. I have also taken a foreign language, Spanish, for two years and am continuing up all the way through high school.
Community Service
At Central, the school I go to, it is required to get at least 25 hours of community service. But that is not all I do! I enjoy volunteering. In my 8th grade year, I volunteered in the community for over 40 hours, in 9th grade over 60 hours, and this summer before I have even gone to school I already have over 70 volunteer hours!! I am also involved in several clubs that require at least 10 hours of community service, such as Jr. and regular Beta Club. I have volunteered at a variety of places to help my community, such as nursing homes, the Discovery Center, my school, a church to feed the homeless, and as a Jr. Docent at a plantation in Nashville. I don't just volunteer because I have to. I volunteer because I really enjoy spending my time helping others less fortunate than I am.
Arts
I am a very musical person. I love music, playing it and listening to it. I have played the clarinet for almost 5 years. I have auditioned for the Murfreesboro Youth Orchestra and didn't make it only because I was too young! I have also auditioned for Mid-State and made it into the Silver Band. I have also been to All-County as a result of Mid-State. I would love to learn how to play the guitar and the piano and plan to take lessons soon. I am involved in my school band with the best band director, Mr. Mears. I have also been in the Pep Band for 4 years. I love music and try to revolve my life around music as much as I can, such as listening to it and playing it constantly.
