ATTRIBUTES
Academics
Throughout the years, I have earned a plethora of academic awards ranging from medals for the highest grade in all of my core honors and AP classes to the highest GPA in the 9th grade out of approximately 200 students. I consistently get high A’s on the many tests in all my classes, because I love displaying my knowledge. I currently have a GPA of 4.52 on a weighted scale and plan to enroll in four AP courses in the upcoming year. My greatest academic achievement so far is a perfect score on the National Latin Exam, in addition to being awarded the Oxford Classical Dictionary for three consecutive years of gold medals. My most recent accomplishment was achieving a 5 on the AP World History exam. I aim to graduate as either the valedictorian or salutatorian of my senior class.
Community Service
Service is a one of the best ways a person can affect the future. In my freshman year, I went on a Jamaica mission trip. The look of gratitude and joy on the faces of the children and elders alike gave me fervor for assisting others. Going into my junior year, I have already acquired more than 100 service hours not only in the community, but also in a different part of the world. I am a member of Beta Club, an officer of Mu Alpha Theta, and one of the VP’s of Young Men’s Service League. Each organization encourages its entire membership to get involved in the community and to provide selfless service for those who need it. As a result, I have been blessed to have many service opportunities, such as Habitat for Humanities, 7 Bridges, Special Olympics, and The Dwight Love Math Tournament.
Athletics
Outside of the classroom, I pursue my two athletic passions, golf and track. I began golfing around the age of 9 and have loved the game ever since. I have finished in the top 11 in several Atlanta Junior Golf 9-hole tournaments. I enjoy testing my limits on the difficult courses while competing in the contests. Next year I hope to rank even higher in the 18-hole tournaments through practice and dedication. In track, I am ranked as the 7th best triple jumper in my region of 5 schools and have lettered twice. I have also won two medals. As a sophomore, I made the varsity team as the top triple jumper and one of the best long jumpers. In future years, I hope to break the school record for the triple jump. As of now, I am about 4 feet off of the record but I am training to reach it.
