ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have a cumulative 3.988 GPA. I am a sophomore and have been on the A honor roll at my school since I was in 6th grade. I am currently ranked 3rd in my class. I am in all honors courses and I will be taking multiple college classes this coming year. I was the captain of a Knowledge Bowl team, Secret Six, in 9th grade and we qualified for sections. I have been the president of TRAC, Teen Reading Advisory Committee, for three years and in charge of buying books for our school library that are appropriate and meet the standards for high school students. I was also given the student leader award for my work in TRAC. I have received college credit as a sophomore for my outstanding grades in College Accounting.
Arts
I have been in band since 5th grade. I am the band treasurer and first chair flute. I also perform in pep band and marching band. I have gone on two band and choir trips and have performed at band contest. During my sophomore year, our band received the highest rating you can get, a superior. We got the highest score, 38/40, in our schools history. My band director has chosen me to perform numerous solos during concerts. I am also involved in choir. Due to scheduling conflicts, I did not receive credit for choir, but did perform with them at many concerts, including Graduation. I am also a yearbook editor for the second year in a row and have completed 6 pages by myself. I was also a featured writer for our school newspaper.
Community Service
I am a volunteer reader for the kindergarten classes at my school. I am also a ribbon writer for the elementary Track and Field Day. I volunteer in my church's choir and serve food at the annual church bingo. I was a greeter in 9th grade for our Veterans Day program and I organized the speakers for the service. I am currently a WWF petitioner and a Haiti Container shopper. I am a "Friend" of St. Jude and have been honored for my continued dedication. I am an associate of Save the Manatee Foundation. This summer I volunteered at the Women's Shelter in my town and worked construction for them. I am also a Christmas for Kids shopper and a Salvation Army Back to School Program shopper. I have continued to work in my schools greenhouse. I am also an Arbor Day staff member.
