Academics
School is very important to me, and I work extremely hard to earn top grades in the most challenging courses at my high school, a competitive prep school in Texas. I've received three history credits thus far and made honors grades. I've completed six years of French, my foreign language, and consistently make top grades. French is my strongest subject. In the sciences, I've taken Bio 1, Chem 1, Physics 1 and Adv. Chem 2. Next year, I plan to take Adv. Bio 2. Overall, I make honors level grades in sciences. In math, I'm on the most advanced track, and while I do not always make honors level grades, I remain dedicated and work hard to keep up with what is admittedly my weakest subject. ACT: 34 USH AP: 5 Math II Subject Test: 760 English Lit AP: 4. Honor roll all 3 years.
Athletics
I've loved sports my whole life. In high school, I've started on my school's varsity soccer and varsity lacrosse teams every year. This past year, I was a captain as a junior on my lacrosse team and I was recognized as an Academic All American. Next year, I will be captain again. Our lacrosse team won the Division One District Championship this year and is projected to make it to state semi-finals next year. My success in lacrosse is especially important to me because I began playing freshman year and rapidly improved. In soccer, I started as sweeper, a leading position on the field, beginning freshman year. Next year, as a senior, I will be captain of the team. Soccer has been a part of my life since I was three, and I hope to continue it at the club level in college.
Government
I love participating in academically oriented clubs because I notice the way they supplement my education and help me develop my speaking skills, my creative problem solving and teamwork abilities. Since sixth grade, I've been a representative on my school's Student Government. Freshman, sophomore and junior year, I served as vice president of my class. Freshman year, I won the Student Government Excellence Award. This past year, I was runner-up for the Hector Lugo Award for Excellence in Student Leadership Next year, I will serve as Vice President of the Student Body. For the past three years, I've also been a part of my school's Model UN. I was selected last spring to be Parliamentarian. I also founded my school's 1st ever Young Republicans' Club, and I am the treasurer.
