ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have been an active member of National Honor Society for three years of high school, where I have participated in various service projects. Some of these projects consist of Keep Las Cruces Beautiful and Clean Up the Rio community projects, Letters to Our Troops, and school recycling programs. I have also earned 10 credit hours for Service Learning Through Applied Leadership as an ambassador for the People to People World Leadership Forum in Washington D.C. During my participation in New Mexico Girls' State, I have also volunteered for the Hero Packs Operation Military Kids. I am also a member of the Community Capacity for Educational Excellence, where I have participated in youth leadership workshops, community dialogues, and the creation of PSAs in promoting equity in education.
Arts
I have successfully auditioned for and am currently a member of Mayfield Varsity Choir, as well as Mayfield's top choir, the Madrigal Chamber Choir. I have auditioned for New Mexico's All-State Choir and have been selected for membership five times. I have performed at three Southwest District Music Festivals throughout high school and have received superior awards for each performance. I also earned a nomination to perform for New Mexico Ambassadors of Music's bi-annual tour of Western Europe. I have had the opportunity to participate in a local film competition, where I received first place for creating a short film. I participated in New York University’s creative writing course Gotham Writers' Workshop online and I am published poet in a local Youth Writes Magazine.
Community Service
