This previous school year I was in all honors classes as a junior in high school. I had a good year by having my 1st semester gpa be 4.0 and my 2nd semester a 4.5 on a weighted scale. throughout high school I have progressively challenged myself more each year. Freshman year I only was taking one honors class which was geometry. As a sophomore I decided to take 2 honors classes one in math the other in history. Finally as a junior I took a big step and went for all honors. I was pleased with how well I did with all of the classes. I am pushing myself even more my senior year to take 2 AP courses along with the rest of my classes as honors. I have been on the student honor roll since 2nd semester of sophomore year and am still on it. I'm happy with the progress I have made.
Community Service
Community service is a rewarding opportunity to be apart of. After a day of helping others out just for the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference in someones life that day is rewarding in itself. I volunteer at a local food pantry in Nebraska called the Heartland Hope Mission. It is the largest food pantry in Nebraska. They serve over 41 thousand meals a year all from donations and fundraisers. The main goal at the food pantry is to help people who are struggling with there current job situation and to get them back on their feet. By providing them with a weeks worth of food they can use the money that they would have had to spend on food and use it to support their families and pay bills.
Government
In my school I'm involved in several leadership positions. As a senior I was voted by my class to be on the senior committee. Also I am very into a student organization at my school called DECA which is for students interested in business. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. At my school as a junior I was a junior officer of my chapter. As a senior I am now the Co- President of my schools chapter. Along with DECA I am also the student manager of our school store call the "Kings Corner" which is also ran by Deca members. With all of those positions I'm also a student ambassador for my school and have the job to represent my school to the community as a respectful group of kids
