I worked in my church's nursery for the past two years by taking care of a class of two year olds on Sundays. This year a friend and I began a Relay for Life club at my high school to support the American Cancer Society. We empower our peers to support the ACS by providing fundraisers throughout the year and taking our high school's team to the Relay for Life event. I also serve in student government and I will be serving as the Student Body President as a senior. Student Government supports many community service projects at our school, so I have been heavily involved in my school's Feed the Firefigthers program, Shop with a Buc program for needy kids, and the Pink Out game for Breast Cancer, and we also make it possible for our peers to support several other causes in our community.
I have a 4.125 GPA and have had rigorous course schedule including five Advanced Placement courses, every honors course that wasn't also offered as an Advanced Placement course, two years of Latin, four years of Spanish, and have also five years learning to play the Cello in my school's Orchestra. My senior year, I will be participating in the Dual Enrollment program and will be enrolled in three Honors courses and a Spanish courses at a local university, while taking another Advanced Placement course at my high school along with three other honors classes. I love to learn and plan to continue my education by going to college and eventually by earning a doctorate in medicine.
I love my high school's athletics program, which is why I began participating in the Junior Cross Country program during middle school, which also happened to be when the year the high school opened. Since then I have spent the last four years in the school's Cross Country program, and three years in the Track and Field program. My high school's Cross Country team in it's four years of existence has eleven Region Titles, and the girl's Varsity team finished third in the state competition. The Track and Field program has also earned multiple Region title. I am proud to be a part of those four girl's Junior Varsity Region Titles and can always be found running through the cross country course and around the track yelling words of encouragement to our Varsity athletes.
