Academics

Since I started high school, I have received all A's on report cards. Furthermore, I hold the first rank position in my grade level. During my junior year, I will be taking six IB (International Baccalaureate) classes, and will be an IB Diploma candidate. Moreover, I have participated in the Academic UIL competitions for the past five years. I received 1st place in Spelling and Vocabulary at District level the four times I participated in this particular subject. Twice, I participated in Number Sense and both times I received 2nd place at District Level. In Spelling and Vocabulary at Regional level, I received 6th place in 9th grade and 10th place in 10th grade.

Community Service

I have been involved in community service since 9th grade. I am co-founder and Vice President of Leo Club, which is an international community service club. It is the junior branch of the Lions Club. I have organized fundraisers by calling stores to host bake sales. We raised over $500 for water filters to fight arsenic poisoning in Bangladesh. In Leo Club, we also conducted a Glasses for Guatemala drive, collecting over 85 pairs of glasses. I participate in Eco Club's clean-ups where we pick up trash from around the campus to keep the environment clean. Through Student Council, I help make PB&J sandwiches for the hungry as well. So far, I have over 85 hours of community service.

Arts

I have played the viola for more than five years now. For the past four years, I have auditioned for and made the All-Region Orchestra. In 9th grade, I participated in the Solo and Ensemble contest and received a superior rating (the highest) for my solo. For the past four years I have been a member of the highest orchestra group at school (Symphonic; during my first year, I was in the beginner group).

In 10th grade, I took Art 1 and in 11th and 12th grades I will take IB Art 1 and 2.
