ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I excel academically by challenging myself with vigorous curriculum, including Advanced Placement and college preparatory courses, and following through with an attentive, dedicated, and motivated approach to my school work. I currently have a very high GPA of 4.52, an ACT composite score of 34, and an SAT score of 1980. I have taken AP History, AP Chemistry, and AP English Language, and have passed all exams with scores of 5. I am currently enrolled to take AP Calculus and AP Literature during my senior year. I have completed two semesters of Foreign Language study in French. I have taken elective history classes and computer classes as well, and plan to apply for an Honors Program upon entering college.
Faith
I am very dedicated to being a faithful, moral, religious individual. I currently attend a local baptist church every Sunday and Wednesday. I serve as a Youth Representative to help encourage others in their personal struggles with faith, and present a positive role model to the youth around me. I have attended multiple mission trips to Mobile, Alabama where I work with inner city children, and volunteer around the community at various places in need. I attend church camps, such as Disciple Now and Camp ToKnowHim, in order to further strengthen my faith and understanding of God's word. In the future I plan to continue to involve myself within the church volunteering and sharing God's love and his holy message.
Arts
I have been involved in the musical arts within my school system since the start of middle school. I am a trumpeter during the spring semesters, competing with my fellow band members in numerous competitions and receiving superior ratings with distinction. I was recently chosen as an Alabama Ambassador of Music, though I was not able to accept for financial reasons, even being nominated was considered an honor. I am captain of the color guard during the fall semesters of band. With the marching band, we have competed and received superior ratings and numerous other awards. I am a member, and the captain of my high school's winter guard, a new program that I have had the opportunity to help build and grow. Also, I have danced competitively for for 14 years and served as a student teacher.
