ATTRIBUTES
Academics
My entire high school time has been dedicated to producing a critical thinker who often questions the world and the ways in which it could be improved. Each year has tested my ability to rationalize logically due to 3 AP and 3 honors courses. My last year shall be rigorous seeing as it contains 3 more AP courses. I have also earned medals each year acknowledging my strengths in a particular subject. The medals were for Choir, Science, English, and U.S. History.
Arts
The Arts, in any form or manner, can always be viewed as society's outlet. More blatantly, art is how each era is recognized by future generations as well as how individuals are portrayed or interpreted. My freshman year, a tulip drawing, which bloomed into the light of life with nothing more than simple colored pencils was displayed for all to see at our town's art museum for a local art exhibition. It was termed "Best of Show" that year. As a high school Junior, I have written and preformed a speech in front of complete strangers on what the America of yesterday could teach the America of tomorrow. Nervous as I was, that speech advanced me to the regional contest and I earned 270 dollars. That same year I surprised classmates with a riveting and passionate speech on the Vietnam War.
Other Achievements
It is through clubs and other activities of the sort that people are exposed to new characters and experiences. I have been a member of the California Scholarship Federation for three consecutive years, proof that my academic record is quite well. For two years, I have been a member of the Art Club at our school and next year wish to dedicate myself even more to the club and become President. Those same two years were filled with training as I prepared myself for the Science Olympiad competitions, each year earning medals for certain events. Early freshmen mornings were filled with vocal training as I was a member of the last year of Madrigals Choir. Though I have been always terrified of public speaking, I joined the school's Mock Trial club and delivered an impressive act as a witness.
