Arts
When I was in third grade, I discovered my true passion for music and the arts in general: Playing the violin.
Whenever I play the violin, I am transported to another place and I am totally engulfed in whatever I play. I have been playing the violin for 9 years and have gotten 5 superiors for Solo and Ensemble, 6 superiors for orchestra and 5 1st place trophies at festivals. I have been apart of youth symphonies, orchestras and state ensembles in my career as an "amateur" musician. During a orchestra trip to New York City, I played on the sidewalk with an open case and recieved money. (Professionals earn money, so I consider myself one now.) I am also currently the concertmaster of my school orchestra.
Anyway, violin is my passion and I hope to keep doing it in college.
Technology
Ever since I downloaded Adobe After Effects and Sony Vegas, i've been obsessed with editing videos and making them awesome. On youtube, I currently have over 39,000 combined video views, which is pretty good for mostly putting video game edited videos.
Over 1000 people have subscribed to me because of my superb content. My editing is extremely above average, and I can do ANYTHING with video.
IN 7th grade, I made the best video out of all my class mates for a college sponsored assignment only using Windows Movie Maker.
I have enough creativity and experience editing, that I could be thrown into a Blockbuster movie production, and edit it to the standards of current Movie editors.
Community Service
As well as doing things to improve one's own life, you can't forget others in your own community.
Every summer, ever since I could remember, I have been volunteering at my grandmother's Day Care service in Ft. Lauderdale called "Patty Cake Academy."
I would either teach the kids there how play certain games, or feed them, or even give them helpful advice for the future. (Keep in mind that 90% of the kids are under the age of 6.
I remember having taught over 30 kids over the past few years how to tie their shoes, which I consider to be a very important accomplishment in life.
Overall, any form of volunteering, is great.
I also volunteer at my local hospital, and do benefit concerts with my violin at my local church to raise money for certain events.
