ATTRIBUTES
Arts
I have a reason I chose the subject “Arts” first, it is because of my unmistakable dedication to my local Blanchard Bands. Through many years of work I have been able to achieve many goals including:position of first chair in my flute section, section leader, and president.
Over the past five years I have participated in SWOBDA, and over the past two years I have participated in OSSBDA. As well as one year at OMETA. Not only have I had the privilege participate in SWOBDA as well as OSSBDA I have recieved a "1" rating on my solo both sophmore and junior year at district convention as well as state.
Currently, I have also begun to give flute lessons over the summer. It is a great oppurtunity for me to learn how to teach students.
Community Service
Although my community is very small, it sill needs things done including help in small organizations.
Currently I have started to get more involved with my community. I started with something small- Volunteering in the nursing home. Although I am not cleaning or organizing, I love to help with the games and activities. I go as many times as I can a week to help with the game Bingo.
Just about a year ago, a large tornado came into the city of Blanchard and demolished numerous homes. I jumped right in to help any way I could with pick up and salvage as many things as I could. I donated boxes for those who needed them as well as lent my hands.
Just a few years ago, I was involved with helping at my local day care for Toddlers 2-3. I greatly enjoyed helping because I simply love children
Academics
Academics is definitely one of my strong suits. Ever since I can remember I have always strived to do my best in every way. Once I entered high school I started to focus more on my GPA and it has paid off. My current GPA is a 4.0 putting me in line for Valedictorian.
Starting in tenth grade I received the award for Biology as well as junior year the award for American History II. My EOI scores for Algebra I, Algebra II, English II(reading), and Biology were all advanced.
My hard work has pushed me to get nominated for a few things including: Oklahoma Girls State as well as Oklahoma Youth Association, however, I only got excepted into Oklahoma Girls Sate, but what an honor it was!
