ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have an overall GPA of 3.69. I have remained on high honor roll throughout high school. I am a member in good standing with the California Scholarship Federation. I have been awarded High Honor Athlete Awards for three years in a row. I have continually challenged myself by enrolling in numerous honors/AP courses. I have been able to academically perform at an above average rate, while taking part in multiple extracurricular activities, such as Notre Dame's Associated Student Body and multiple sports. I am a member of the Young Black Scholars Program. I am looking forward to being inducted into the National Honor Society this fall, as Notre Dame was recently re-charted as a participating school.
Other Achievements
I have served as class president every year of high school. I was nominated as one of Riverside's 25 Most Remarkable Teens. I was named "Most Outstanding Junior Female", at our annual awards night ceremony. I was awarded the Michaela Zuickuhr Memorial Scholarship. In May of 2010, I was awarded "Most Promising Freshman Female. During my high school career, I have also been recognized for my leadership by organizations outside of school, as I was named MVP of the California Youth Think Tank Program. I was chosen for CYTT, from hundreds of high school students from throughout the state of California who applied. Additionally, I was one of 20 high school students chosen from high schools within the Inland Empire, to serve as a board member for the Youth Grantmaker's Foundation.
Athletics
I have been awarded High Honor Athlete Awards in 4 different sports at Notre Dame. I am the starting guard, and served as interim captain on Notre Dame's League Champions varsity basketball team. I am also the captain of the varsity track team, where as a member I set the small school record for the 100m dash. I was named team MVP, as well as the recipient of the "Most Inspirational Award" for track & field. As a sophomore I was named "Defensive MVP" of our varsity soccer team. I have also been a member of our Regional & State Champions varsity cheer squad, where I co-created the "Cheer Up The Community Campaign", a community service campaign that was so successful, we were recognized by Mayor Loveridge of Riverside. I serve as a volunteer for Riverside's Parks & Recreation Department.
