Well, ever since I can remember my parents in particular my mother have always pushed me beyond my limits especially when it comes my grades. I've always had A's and B's and I plan to continue that all through out my life time. I have held this as a high standard and anything lower than a B is not acceptable. You see my parents have taught me with hard work, comes a great reward. They both didn't finish their school time and ending up dropping out early in their early years, so they influenced me to do better and give my hundred percent in anything so I can have a brighter future than they could ever imagine. I have taken that in account, and have challenged myself by taking AP classes, and entering the GT (Horizons) program. Believe me, it isn't easy but in the end it will be worth it!
Arts
Singing is something I deeply enjoy. It's the key for a long life. I began to sing in the third grade in my church choir, and then joined it in sixth grade at my school. I'm now an Junior and I'm still in choir and planning to stay in it. Some people may find it boring, or pointless since it could lower one's GPA, but I find it so wonderful! It's not just a class, but it's a place where you can feel like a family. I've learned so much just by being a member. I discovered that I love to dance and perform on stage, in front of a crowd. Something I used to fear. I also learned how to work in a team because in choir every voice, every member, every note, and every pitch matters! It spreads a wonderful message with it's lyrics. Choir, is just simply amazing.
Other Achievements
Besides being a great student and loving choir I do love dance and my heritage, and that's why when combining of those things, it creates an astonishing product that I adore. That product is called HOLA. (Hispanics Organization For Leaders Of America.) I am truly blessed that I am an officer of this amazing club. The purpose is to let everyone know of our Hispanic Culture through performances and dance. We have entered competition for the last past five years and managed with hard work to bring first place every year. I was fortunate to actually participate in such event and getting first place with them. I hope one day I can make a living of Hispanic Dancing. It's just truly wonderful giving me such an outstanding feeling of joy and accomplishment.
