Academics
I feel that an individual can always continue to learn and enhance themselves with the knowledge that they retain. This belief I have in learning leads me to always strive to consistently do better and always improve my school work and myself as an individual. My belief in academics is the reason why during my freshman year I enrolled in Honors English, Honors Algebra, and an upper level Spanish class. During my sophomore year I was in the second installment of Honors English and Algebra along with a college level Spanish class in which I received 10 college credit hours. During these two years I was recognized in both NEHS and NHS. As I go into the 2012-2013 school year as a Junior I have a cumulative GPA of 3.88 and am enrolled in 15 hours worth of college credit classes.
Community Service
I try to help out anyone who needs assistance. Throughout my past two years of high school I have been involved in various services groups such as FCCLA, NEHS, Interact, and SADD. With these groups alone I have helped with a blood drive, a seat belt safety week, stuffed animal drive, canned good drive, shoe drive, I have even helped clean the school library during the summer. Outside of school I have spent over 190 hours of service to various causes. Some of those causes include raising funds to buy a wheel chair lift and installing for a 2 year old girl who is wheel chair bound, and repairing a poor gentleman's house. I feel that by serving others not only does it improve the lives of those you are assisting but your life is made better as well.
Arts
Ever since I was a little kid I always found inventive ways to express myself. As a child I loved to dance, I did ballet for one year and tap and jazz for seven. In the fourth grade I was given the award of the most creative writer. As I grew older all of my English teachers and many of my other teachers always said I had a knack for writing. I was always an extremely dramatic individual, but it wasn’t until I was in middle school that I started acting, I had lead roles for 2 years in a row. In high school I discovered speech and debate and I found my true calling. I absolutely love to entertain people, even if it does involve a few possibly embarrassing moments. I find art as a way to express myself and to relate to others whether it be through writing, acting or dancing, I love it all.
