Academics

Academics have always been an important part of my life because I knew good grades would help me achieve my goal of becoming a pediatrician. I have been on the Academic Honor Roll all four years of high school. I am a part of the National Honors Society. I have received many academic awards in various subjects including; geometry, health, government, theology, and Spanish. I love challenging myself so I took a college level dual credit English class and an AP U.S. history class my junior year of high school. My senior year I decided to take AP Biology, AP statistics, and AP Spanish. I was also fortunate enough to attend a private Catholic high school. This has helped me to have high academic standards and has also helped me establish a great foundation.

Athletics

Golf is a sport that teaches integrity and honesty. I have been a member of the golf team for all four years of high school. My team won the TAPPS 2A district, regional, and state championship for four straight years. We have also placed first in all other TAPPS 2A individual tournaments as well. My team has also placed in TAPPS 3A and 4A tournaments. Individually, I placed eighth in the TAPPS 2A District 3 tournament and fourth in the Clear Creek Invitational tournament. Golf has taught me how to be a strong player both individually and as a team. These awards that I received are due to hard work and dedication not only in tournaments but in practices as well.

Other Achievements

Throughout the four years of high school, clubs and hobbies have helped me to be a well rounded person. I have had the chance to have leadership roles such as; class representative, vice president, and president of student council. I have also been an active member in Spanish Club, Relay for Life Club, Pro-life Club, prom committee, and spirit team.

I have had many hobbies that have kept me busy during high school. I was an advanced dancer for the Newcomb School of Ballet and I have danced in many ballet performances. During the Halloween season, I made my own costumes that were inspired by Johnny Depp characters and I was even featured in a newspaper article. I believe that the clubs and hobbies I have participated in will help me to be open to new ideas as I go off to college.
