Judging

Recognizing all-around high school students

The Discus Awards judging panel is comprised of incredible volunteers who are teachers, guidance counselors, and other education professionals who are passionate about recognizing all-around students. The panel evaluates nominations to recognize exceptional all-around high school students. Entries do not compete against each other. Instead, entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Judges score entries on a performance scale and winning entries may be recognized as Discus Awards Finalists or Honorable Mention Candidates. All Discus Awards Finalists and Honorable Mention Candidates are considered for scholarship awards provided by Discus Awards partners.

Providing $2,000 college scholarships to standout students

Throughout the academic year, the National All-Around Student Scholarship judging panel identifies ten Discus Awards Finalists who truly stand out from the population of well-rounded high school students honored by the Discus Awards judging panel. Each year, Scholarship Strategies grants $20,000 in National All-Around Student Scholarships to ten outstanding Discus Awards Finalists. These exceptional all-around students each receive $2,000 college scholarships to help pursue their talents and meet their educational goals.
